Plot Tragedy at the Listvyazhnaya mine in the Kemerovo region
The Central District Court of Kemerovo has arrested several other defendants in the case of the incident at the Listvyazhnaya mine, where 51 people died.
Until January 26, the chief inspector of the Belovsky territorial Sergei Vinokurov, department of the Siberian department of Rostekhnadzor, reports TASS.
The deputy director of the mine, Andrei Molostov, was also arrested. By the decision of the judge, he remains in jail until January 25.
Earlier on Saturday, the court arrested another state inspector of Rostekhnadzor Vyacheslav Semykin, as well as the director of the mine, Sergei Makhrakov. None of them admits their guilt. There is a fifth accused in the case, the head of the precinct Sergei Gerasimenok. The court is considering a petition for his arrest.
On the morning of November 25 at Listvyazhnaya there was smoke. There were 285 people underground. They managed to withdraw most of them, and the mine rescuers went after the rest. As a result, 46 miners and five rescuers were killed. According to preliminary data, the cause of the emergency was a methane explosion.
