The Crow reboot flies again

A reboot of The Crow has been long in the works, with both Luke Evans and then Jack Huston set at different points for the role Draven. The film is a reboot of the supernatural-superhero franchise about a rock star named Eric Draven who comes back from the dead to avenge his murder. Samuel Hadida’s Davis Films, Highland Film Group and Electric Shadow previously acquired the rights to finance, produce and distribute the film. The Crow Reborn will be distributed worldwide by Sony Pictures, EW has learned. Although there is no official word, EW is hearing that both will be involved in the Sony-distributed project. The series began with 1994’s The Crow, whose star, Brandon Lee, died during the film’s production in an incident involving a prop gun. Pressman and Relativity developed the film. Kevin Misher will also be producing for Misher Films. Edward R. Highland Film Group will also handle international sales. That film spawned three sequels, the last of which, The Crow: Wicked Prayer, was released in 2005. Show Full Article Most recently, Aquaman actor Jason Momoa was attached to star in the film, with British filmmaker Corin Hardy (The Hallow, the upcoming The Nun) directing. The plan is for   The Crown Reborn   to be a more faithful adaptation   of the original graphic novel written by James O’Barr. Highland Film Group and Electric Shadow are also producing. Pressman, who produced the original 1994 film, will produce alongside Hadida.
