‘The Get Down’ is back with a beautiful representation of the early hip-hop era

Show Full Article The hosts of Bingeworthy are singing the praises   of The Get Down. “I can’t believe that there were kinks in the first half in your mind,”   Touré argued. “I love the music, I love the performances, I love this whole notion of hip-hop and disco swirling together.”
Cohost Jessica Shaw was equally emphatic with her acclaim   for Baz Luhrmann’s 1970s musical drama set in New York City, noting the marked improvement from the first half of the debut season. “I didn’t say it was perfect, but it was a very, very good show.”
