More than 40 authors are contributing   —   including Tom Angleberger, Meg Cabot, Paul Dini, Ken Liu, Nnedi Okorafor, Mallory Ortberg, and Gary Whitta — and all have forgone compensation for their work. Step aside, Luke, Leia, and Han — a new Star Wars anthology book is primed   to bring   dozens of background characters into the spotlight. Due in October from Del Rey Books,   Star Wars: From a Certain Point of View will mark the 40th anniversary of Star Wars: A New Hope with a collection of 40 original stories told from the perspectives of the movie’s “unsung weirdos, heroes, and villains.”
Among the tales to be recounted   are those of   the   X-wing pilots who helped Luke destroy the Death Star and   the stormtroopers who   couldn’t quite   find the droids they were looking for.
