Later that year, director Joel Schumacher was attached to direct the project. 28, 2018 — a few short weeks after major fall festivals in Venice, Telluride, and Toronto are scheduled to launch high-profile films into the 2019 Oscar race. The time-tested narrative   — typically about a seasoned (yet troubled) industry figure whose personal demons consume him after he takes a rising starlet under his wing — has been adapted for several generations of moviegoers over the years, beginning with George Cukor’s 1932 drama What Price Hollywood?, continuing with Janet Gaynor and Fredric March in 1937’s   A Star Is Born,   and sustaining through further editions released in 1954 and 1976, when the faces of Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand, James Mason, and   Kris Kristofferson   dotted   Star‘s skies in the lead roles. Ewan McGregor on ‘Star Wars’ Obi-Wan movie: ‘I’d be happy to do it’

After that, his schedule appears to be rather clear of big-ticket productions … you know, just in case anybody wants to hire him for something. I think they’ve got films to make until the 2020s, so I don’t think it’s going to happen soon if it happens at all.”
Here’s what Kennedy   told MTV when asked about the next anthology title: “I think we’re getting close. McGregor just came off T2: Trainspotting is about to make his debut playing two roles in FX’s Fargo   season 3 on Wednesday. My hope would be [to announce] sometime around the summer. While the internets have been claiming for awhile that next stand-alone film in a galaxy far, far away will likely focus on Obi-Wan Kenobi, there’s been exactly zero confirmation that this is the case. It would be a good segue between the last episode of the prequels and the new episodes. The Last Jedi   is coming Dec. “There’s no official offer, and I haven’t met them about it or anything,” McGregor tells EW. And Mr. 15 (here’s the trailer), the stand-alone young Han Solo film is coming May 25, 2018, and then Episode IX will debut sometime after that. But Disney seems to be looking for another   stand-alone idea for 2020. I never want to predict the creative process because it is its own thing, so we’re in the midst of those discussions right now.”
As McGregor points out, Disney has Star Wars titles lined up for the next several years, though it’s actually not too soon to announce another. A recent trailer finally offered   a new glance at Bloom’s character, however, thus raising the question of whether his wife would make a cameo as well. Their lovebirds Elizabeth and Will Turner essentially bid farewell to audiences at the end of the third film, At World’s End, when Will was remanded to spend the better part of eternity cursed to be captain of the ghostly Flying Dutchman.

’13 Reasons Why’: Ross Butler talks Hannah and Zach — and why he ignored Justin’s calls

Does he like her? The rest of the boys walk outside and I tell them, “I’ll see you guys later.” It’s just the moment where I had to stand up and do something because I believe that Zach is a good and decent person. I was genuinely enraptured. What happens with Zach is in this moment of adversity where he has the weight and the burden of a girl killing herself basically over something that he did. ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Did you read the book before you first actually started working on it? Because he really cared about Hannah, and he really loved her. Show Full Article With Zach having slowly grown over the course of the Netflix series 13 episodes, EW spoke to Butler about what transpired. His heart was pulling him too much in that direction to not do anything. Considering Zach has heard the tapes, why do you think he still ignores Justin’s calls? The way that I went about creating Zach’s character at that point was, I’d always had a thing for her and I felt bad for her, and there was always something about her that I was attracted to, but because of her reputation and because of how all my friends talked about her, I didn’t have the backbone to stand up to what they thought and go with how I felt. ROSS BUTLER:   When I was driving up to San Francisco, which is where we shot it, I listened to the audiobook the whole way. He takes a moment just to step away from his friends’ influence and step away from what they’re saying, and he takes time for himself, to really discover who he is and what he cares about. He even proves a caring friend as seen in his concern for his friend, and fellow “Reason” mentioned on the tapes, Alex. I’d heard what it was about, the subject matter, and I was like, “Okay, this is gonna be typical YA novel.” But I just found myself getting lost in it when I was driving, and by the time I was done, I was so moved by how real it was, I immediately knew that this project was definitely something that we needed to talk about and would also entertain. Justin was his best friend, because they’re on the team together and they have a history, they’ve known each other for a long time, but there’s a line during the scene with almost all the Reasons at Monet’s, and Zach says, “Justin’s my best friend, but do you think he cares about me right now or what I want right now?” And that’s so revealing of what’s going through Zach’s head, because he’s questioning his friendships and who’s going to stand up for him, and when he’s at the table with his sister and with his mom, he knows that those are the people who really care about him. To be honest, it was something I wasn’t expecting. How would you say Hannah’s death affects him? Wracked with guilt about the whole situation, Zach finally does come clean, telling the deposition committee the truth about how he and his friends had said some not so nice things about Hannah. One of the 13 people mentioned on Hannah Baker’s tapes   — the source of the titular   13 Reasons Why   — is basketball star Zach Dempsey (Riverdale‘s   Ross Butler). Unfortunately for the gifted (and occasionally sweet) jock, his reason for being mentioned isn’t as pleasant as one might hope   — especially seeing as his stealing the complimentary notes left to her by her classmates is one of the things that drives her to feel depressed enough to consider ending her own life. When I left L.A. Hopefully, towards the end, you can see that. In that scene, after seeing it myself — because everything else that happened was pretty much rumor, or just things that were written on paper — after I actually saw it I felt so bad for her and I had to go with my gut. Zach becomes a man during this time, because he can either grow into somebody who is always gonna be a pushover, which is how you see him in the beginning. It’s actually really interesting, it timed out perfectly. But then towards the end of the series, you see him grow into this person who takes a stand and does what he wants and it’s his decision, ultimately, to tell the truth in his deposition and to fight for it. Is it because he doesn’t want to face up to what Justin might have done? What’s going through his mind in those moments? Because the way it’s set up, it’s a mystery but it’s not your traditional mystery, like say Riverdale, where somebody gets killed and throughout the series, you find out who killed them by clues. The 10th-anniversary edition of   13   Reasons Why is currently available for purchase —   order it here   — and the television adaptation is now streaming on Netflix. It just felt like, “Whoa. I started it, and when I got to the hotel in San Francisco, right when I parked, the book ended. This is going to be something.”
What did you think of it? All he cares about is being accepted by his friends and doing what they say, which is why he never stood up for himself. The old Zach wouldn’t have done that, but the new Zach, starting to question his friendships and what is right for him and stands up for himself and his sister and his family and what that all means for him. When Zach first approaches Hannah in that diner scene with Marcus, what does he think of her? When he ignores the call, he’s with his family and Zach is starting to realize who he is. As soon as I read it, I had so much more confidence and so much more drive to tell it the way it needed to be told. This is like, you know what happens at the end, and it tells you how.

Everything we know about season 2 of the Up and Vanished podcast

It will be this year for sure. Six months into the show’s run, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) announced an arrest after police received an anonymous tip. We’re already going to be behind the scenes putting things together and working on the case we select before we announce it. So obviously we’re looking for cases we can be plugged directly into and, from the beginning, make a difference. What led the anonymous tipster to finally go to police remains unknown. I will gladly give information to the GBI and I’m not going to go try to screw up what they’re doing. The development shocked everyone, Lindsey included. LINDSEY: I think we’re sticking to [the theme of] people who’ve disappeared and no one knows what happened. Namely, because the suspect never appeared on any official’s radar during the 11-year investigation. You’re not really messing with law enforcement’s investigation. We’re looking for cases that draw us in the same way this one drew us in – with just the sheer mystery behind it. Have you started researching what the next case will be? Maurice Godwin, the private investigator hired by Grinstead’s family who had been working on the case for over a decade, Up and Vanished propelled the Grinstead case back into the spotlight. I think in the U.S., but really it could be anywhere. But as noted during the arrest announcement in February, the media played a “significant role” in the investigation. RELATED:   How Up and Vanished Helped Crack a 2005 Cold Case
Are you looking for a local case? Elliott Minor/AP
Now with only a few episodes left before he signs off on the investigation, Lindsey tells EW what to expect from season two of Up and Vanished. I think as long as you remain focused on the right thing and be aware of how much you are inserting yourself, there’s a way to report on the case that is not going to have a negative effect. Hopefully, like last time, Maurice in a way was sort of a shoo-in for me to get started and have a little bit of an advantage when it came to learning the case. We’re in a position now where we can travel and stay in a place for a period of time and make a difference there so it’s definitely not limited to Georgia. ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Will you stick with the theme of “vanishing” people for season 2? I think it’s just about as long as you maintain the objective of getting the truth out there and solving it. Where is the line where you’re inserting yourself too much versus having a really positive impact on a case that was otherwise just cold? As a result of his work, aided by Dr. Show Full Article In some instances it’s very clear, sometimes it’s not. You’re really the only person investigating it at that point, or at least avidly investigating every single day. We have about eight or 10 cases right now that are really sticking out to us as ones that we’d want to pursue. I’m interested to hear your response to the question you asked him: Where do you draw the line in investigative journalism? Though not mentioned by name, many knew the recognition belonged to Lindsey. When a case is cold, like Tara Grinstead’s case was, that line is a lot grayer and you have a lot more leeway because it’s not being actively investigated. So I think if it’s a cold case like that, you have a lot more room to do your thing. Not necessarily, no. There are tons of cases that we’ve looked at and are looking at. We’ve been sent in the hundreds of cases from different listeners and families and we’re taking the time and going through all of them. We will definitely announce it this year and the new season will come out later this year.
